Biography
Professor Adrian Kuah holds the position of Professor of Strategy & Sustainability at James Cook University. Renowned for his expertise, he was invited to the National Committee for Circularity of Materials (2021-23; 2024-27) in Singapore and headed the Singapore Delegation on ISO/TC 323 Circular Economy at several ISO Meetings to Brazil and Rwanda. In 2024, he became an ISO International Expert entrusted to help 13 developing countries in Asia transit towards the circular economy. In 2025, he is a key member of the research consortium funded by UNEP Textile Initiative to promote the shift to circular textile value chains in Indonesia. Throughout his illustrious career of nearly 30 years, he also made substantial contributions to academic literature, authoring nearly 100 papers. His scholarly endeavors have been recognized with substantial research grants from received from institutions, such as UNEP, EPSRC, ESRC, Fonds Pacifique, Enterprise Singapore, DFAT and DETINI, totaling more than AUD 1.8 million.
Professor Kuah holds a prominent position as top 1.8% researchers in the circular economy domain over the past 5 years. His cutting-edge research has been published in the Journal of Business Research, Science of the Total Environment, and the Journal of Cleaner Production, solidifying his reputation as a thought leader in the intersection of strategy and sustainability. In 2024, he received the fellowship of the Royal Society of Arts in the UK.
