Abstract
[Extract] This book examines the impact foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows on the Chinese economy from three important aspects of economic development-namely, the impacts on regional economic growth, income inequality and urbanization. The book provides an excellent account of FDI since China's opening in the early 1980's and draws a number of policy implications of benefit to policy makers not only in China but also in other developing countries.
