Hypertension: an immunologic disease?

Abstract
[Extract] Although many experimental studies have shown that hypertension is associated with inflammation, there is no evidence that inflammation contributes to human hypertension. Here we report a case in which antitumor necrosis factor-a (TNF-a) therapy lowered blood pressure (BP) in a patient of uncontrolled hypertension accompanied with ankylosing spondylitis.
