Abstract

The findings of the bi-annual PoTL/TropWATER Seagrass Monitoring Program show the clearest seasonal signal occurs in the meadows that are dominated by Halophila species, with area and biomass of these meadows driven by the growth and expansion of colonising Halophila species in the peak season (late spring) surveys. The high variability of these meadows means their extent, distribution and density is likely to be at their lowest at the time this survey was conducted (May 2022) and are likely to change over the coming months. The October 2021 bi-annual survey found seagrass in the area of interest
