Abstract

Welcome to the grasses of the Burra Range area. The species covered in this treatment are those found in southern and eastern part of White Mountains National Park area. The aim of this book is to provide information about common species. The grasses belong to a very widespread and large family called the Poaceae. It is one of the largest flowering plant families of the world, comprising more than 10,000 species. In Australia there are over 1300 species including non-native grasses, in the Burra Range area there are more than 75 species.
