Abstract

Occpational therapy is an evolving profession that is grounded in meeting people's occupational needs. Reflection on the history of the profession (see Chapter 3) substantiates the profession's capacity to respond to the needs of individuals, families communities. As Australian society evolves, existing occupational therapy practice areas adapt and new or emerging practice areas arise in response to changing needs.
