Abstract

[Extract] I did not want to begin this little article with recalling where I was when "it" happened. But like so many earthshaking events in one's life, one can't help but resort to this play as a means perhaps of recapturing the innocence of the day. There was nothing particularly remarkable about September 11, 2001. That is, if like me, you were in Manila, winding down the day watching the news on television. But as we all know, September 11 did turn out to be more than remarkable when, for the first time perhaps in its long history, the world's most powe1ful nation felt what it was like to be attacked and plunged into a war no nation's people is ever prepared to face.
