Conversations with Professor Simon Marginson (Monash) and Professor Rui Yang (University of Hong Kong) on the future of Higher Education. The Higher Education landscape has changed dramatically in the last ten years. The rise of MOOCs and the importance accorded to branding and delivery of content has been highlighted. China has led the way in catering to a diverse group of students demanding a particular brand of education and Australia has not kept up. Professor Simon Marginson talks about the need for Australia to find its niche in the higher education sector which may include enhanced research activity through broader collaboration in East Asia including sending our best students overseas for enhanced mobility and learning.
