Evidence of geographic variation in lethal temperature but not activity temperature of a lizard

Abstract
[Extract] Species that occur over large geographical areas must tolerate, or adapt to, a range of climatic conditions. The response of ectotherms to a range of environmental temperatures is particularly interesting, because temperature has important effects on performance in these species (Hues and Stevenson, 1979).
