Abstract

[Extract] When considering mental health outcomes for traumatic brian injury (TBI) survivors, there is a tenency to view these from a traditional medical model that monitors levels of symptom distress and the presence of absence of psychopathology. This chapter contents that recovery and outcomes following a TBI need to be reconsidered using a dual-factor model of mental health that includes both mental illness and mental well-being.
