Preface: advancing conservation science
Journal Contribution ResearchOnline@JCULaurance, William F.;Koh, Lian Pin
Abstract
[Extract] Navjot Sodhi was many things - a dynamic scientific leader, a remarkably productive researcher, a brilliant if unconventional mentor, a stellar editor for Biological Conservation and other journals and, above all, a passionate conservationist. Sadly, Navjot died on 12 June, 2011 from an aggressive lymphoma, at the far-too-early age of 49. His life and passing are the inspiration for this eclectic collection of essays, written by some of the world's leading conservation scientists.
