Abstract

A recent survey of University graduates identified the top ten skills or qualities that graduates perceive as most important for workplace success, with University-based activities such as real-world experiences suggested as a means of achieving these skills (Landrum, Hettich & Wilner 2010). This use of real-world experiences is commonly referred to as problembased learning, and is designed to enhance student learning through the acquisition of situational knowledge (O'Neill & Hung 2010). Sport and Exercise Science bachelor degree students have attained prior theoretical and practical knowledge in discipline areas such as health and fitness assessing, exercise prescription, sport psychology, Sports medicine and sports rehabilitation throughout their course; however, it is not until entering the workforce that students typically integrate these areas into a comprehensive client management plan.
