Reliability of an incremental arm crank protocol for peak aerobic capacity determination in females
Conference Contribution ResearchOnline@JCUAbstract
Traditionally, arm ergometry (AE) has been utilised to assess exercise responses in those with lower body limitations" Increasingly, AE has been included in the assessment of performance for athletes involved with predominantly upper body sports. Currently there exists no gold standard protocol for the determination of peak aerobic capacity (VO2peak) during AE. Further, most studies to date have examined male participants with little investigation of females. Therefore, the aim of the current study was to examine the reliability of an incremental AE protocol in the determination of VO2peak for females.
