Abstract
This report focuses on two recent projects undertaken at James Cook University. The first involves Dr David Salisbury's research on the Townsville Torres Strait Islander community's 'Coming of the Light' ceremony and the placement of this research within an Electronic Cultural Atlas of North Queensland. The second details the work of Dr Stephen Naylor on Australia's involvement in the Venice Biennale, outlining the way in which this work falls within the nexus of teaching and research.
