Areal aggregated crime reasoning through density tracing
Conference Publication ResearchOnline@JCUPhillips, Peter;Lee, Ickjai
Abstract
Intelligent crime analysis allows for a greater understanding of the dynamics of unlawful activities, providing possible answers to where, when and why certain crimes are likely to happen. In this paper, we propose a density tracing based approach for reasoning about large areal aggregated crime datasets. Crime and spatial features exhibiting similar density traces can be reasoned show correlation. The proposed system discovers both positive and negative associative features. Experimental results demonstrate the robustness of our approach.
