Abstract

A study is conducted using the accounts of women service users and policy makers to establish that child care subsidy policy and services are not positioned to benefit women. It is also explored the implications of women's invisibility in child care policy formulation and implementation which challenges the notion that child care is not a women's issue and provide encouragement for feminist theorising about child care policies.
