Description

Using a qualitative approach, the study explored the issues related to recruitment, retention and mobility of junior doctors in Queensland. Specifically, the reasons and intentions for choosing the location of internship positions and beyond, and factors influencing doctors’ decisions for staying in, leaving or returning to metro- versus non-metropolitan hospitals. Data were collected through interviews with Postgraduate Year(PGY)1-5 doctors in five selected hospitals in QLD.
