Description

Mentoring for Researcher Developers (M4RD) is a scheme that has been designed for anyone working in a researcher development role, including those whose job title may be Researcher Developer, Researcher Development Manager, Officer, Associate, Consultant, Liaison librarian or indeed any variations therein. The main requirement is that the role involves providing training, resources, guidance or in some capacity working with researchers (whose primary function is research including at the doctoral level) to promote and support their own professional development. The M4RD scheme run for 6 months from May-October annually and seeks to forge fruitful mentoring relationships. The M4RD scheme sits under the Network for Researcher Developers (NeRDs) group. 2024, Mentors and mentees are encouraged to use this scheme as a springboard for developing a lasting personal and professional connection for researcher developers around the world. In 2023, I worked with Mike Rose, who connected me to 23 Things International. This year I have worked with researcher developers in South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand.
