Description

I was invited by the President of the Cairns Marlin Coast Probus to give an invited talk on the research I and other team at AITHM do. This voluntary organization was established to cater to the needs and well-being of retired and senior Australian citizens. I was the first off the mark from JCU to have been invited to speak at their public gathering/meeting event on Tuesday 13 April at the Kewarra Beach Resort. I promoted the AITHM and JCU's research themes and the biodiscovery research that my group does on finding a cure from the Wet Tropics' biomes for one of the incurable and debilitating diseases- inflammatory bowel disease. It was also a meeting for networking and for fundraising. More than 80 members participated in the meeting.
