Description

Freshly promoted to Level C Academic (Senior Lecturer), I conceived and spearheaded the inaugural ASEAN Tourism Research Conference (ATRC) 2017, hosted at James Cook University Singapore on January 18, 2017. Themed “Shaping our Tourism Journey Together,” the conference marked ASEAN’s 50th anniversary and aligned with the ASEAN Tourism Strategic Plan 2016–2025, highlighting tourism’s role in regional integration, sustainability, and inclusive development. As co-chair and conference host, I led the vision, planning, and execution of the event, which brought together academics, students practitioners, and policymakers to share research and foster cross-border collaborations across the ASEAN region.
