This media coverage was about a plant only found in the Wet Tropics that may hold the key to helping patients with inflammatory bowel disease. My team has discovered novel molecules that can be used for developing drugs for treating IBD. IBD affects one in 250 Australians. The grants awarded by FNQH ($50K) would enable us to develop these molecules further and secure intellectual rights for two novel drug lead molecules.
