North and West Remote Health , Research project title: 'Community co-design initiative for understanding carer situations in the Torres Strait and Cape York Region'. Funded by Wellways for Carer Gateway. This project aimed to understand the experiences, needs, and challenges of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander unpaid carers to develop strategies to address them in the Torres Strait and Cape York regions. Objectives: (1) To identify and analyse barriers faced by carers in accessing Carer Gateway services, fostering a collaborative approach to address challenges specific to each location, and (2) To provide suggestions on tailoring Carer Gateway services to the diverse needs of the targeted communities by integrating insights from the engagements and co-design activities.
