Saranika Talukder

Dr. Saranika Talukder is a Lecturer in Animal Nutrition within the College of Public Health, Medical and Veterinary Sciences. She completed PhD journey with The University of Sydney in collaboration with FutureDairy project. Following her PhD, she served as an Endeavour Research Fellow at Charles Stuart University, Australia.

With extensive experience in the fields of Teaching and Learning, Saranika honed her skills in high-quality teaching, subject coordination, and subject development in the area of animal nutrition and physiology. Demonstrating her versatility, Saranika have successfully delivered effective instruction in both face-to-face and online environments. In teaching practice, she has applied educational theories, frameworks, design principles, and contemporary assessment techniques to create exceptional learning experiences for students. As a subject coordinator, I have taken pride in designing and delivering courses that integrate problem-based learning, blended learning, and experiential learning, carefully selected to provide students with diverse learning experiences tailored to their individual styles and needs.

Her proficiency in publishing research articles in national and international journals, alongside her adeptness in delivering engaging presentations to diverse audiences, further strengthens her skill set. She has published 36 research articles in renowned peer-reviewed journals, presented 21 peer-reviewed scientific conference papers, and contributed to three book chapters. She has been the senior author for 41% of her peer-reviewed journal articles, highlighting her significant contribution and leadership in these publications.  With 734 citations and an upward trajectory, her publication h-index stands at 14, and i10-index is 15 (Google Scholar), with an h-index of 10 (Web of Science).

Grants

Collaboration with farmers, industry consultants, and service providers has been a cornerstone of her work. This involvement has led her to serve as an investigator or co-investigator in several industry projects and supervising higher degree research students.  She has secured following competitive research grants, with a total research grant income of $1572k, funded by esteemed organizations such as Dairy Australia, Murray Dairy, AgriFutures, and the University of Melbourne.
