Biography
Katrina holds a BSc (Psych) and is an experienced Research Officer with a focus on improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations.
Since joining James Cook University in 2013, Katrina has worked on various research projects covering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, brain injury, substance use, mental health and the development of service models for individuals of all abilities in Far North Queensland.
Currently, Katrina's focus lies in innovative models of clinical service delivery specifically tailored for rural, remote, and Indigenous communities. She recognises the pressing need for accessible and culturally sensitive healthcare in these regions and aims to bridge the gap between traditional healthcare systems and the unique requirements of these communities.
