Biography
Dr Ines Zuchowski is an Associate Professor in Social Work and Humans Services at JCU and a research fellow at the Cairns Institute. She has extensive work experience as a social worker in social welfare practice, exposing her to a broad range of interventions and fields of practice. Research is integral part of Ines’ professional social work practice and academic career.

Research is integral part of Ines’ professional social work practice. Over the years, Ines’ work in this area has attracted three Queensland Domestic Violence Prevention Awards and an Australian Violence Prevention Merit Award
Over the years, Ines’ work in this area has attracted three Queensland Domestic Violence Prevention Awards and an Australian Violence Prevention Merit Award. She completed her PhD in 2015 focusing on ‘Social Work Field Education with External Supervision’. Ines has published widely, with a particular focus on field education and social work education. Her social work practice experience and research interest are particularly centred around, child and youth welfare, violence prevention, professional development of supervision, social justice and human rights, women’s issues and field education for social work students.
Ines is leading the following research projects:
- Social Work placements in GP practices;
- Professional development of social work field educators;
- Supervision in field education;
- Social work academic engagement and involvement with industry partners.
