Biography
Helena Radke has been a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at James Cook University since 2023. She is a social psychologist interested in understanding how we can make progress towards social equality with a particular interest in collective action (especially allyship) and gender equality. Helena is currently leading an Australian Research Council Discovery Project with Maja Kutlaca, Michelle Ryan and Emina Subasic to examine ways in which workplace gender equality can be advanced through effective allyship. Helena is one of the founding members of the Collective Action Network (https://twitter.com/canetwork) with Maja Kutlaca and Melis Ulug which showcases collective action research from around the world and especially among early career researchers. She has also served as an action editor for Group Processes and Intergroup Relations (2021-2024) and the British Journal of Social Psychology (2024-present). Helena has extensive experience teaching undergraduate and post-graduate psychology subjects as well as teaching and learning leadership as the University of Edinburgh MSc Social Psychology Program Director (2021-2023) and James Cook University Bachelor of Psychological Science Course Coordinator with Jonathon Connor (2023-present).
