Amy Forbes

Dr Amy Forbes is Associate Professor of Humanities, and Associate Dean, Learning and Teaching, College of Arts, Society and Education. She is a a journalist who has worked across media platforms over the last 25 years. Her latest book, Interviewing A Guide for Journalists and Professional Writers (3rd edition) with Dr Gail Sedorkin, has just been published in March 2023 by Routledge (London). She is a communication and film academic and researcher with over 30 years of tertiary teaching experience in the Philippines, the US and Australia. She was associate professor at De la Salle University (Manila) before moving to Australia in 2004 to join Monash University. She moved to sunny Townsville and JCU in 2008. She received a 2014 Office for Learning & Teaching award for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning -- Wired for Employment: For leadership and excellence in developing and delivering a pioneering WIL-based curriculum in Multimedia Journalism
