Biography
I have been undertaking research in the areas of tropical and temperate marine ecosystems since 1990. I specialise in the environmental monitoring of water quality and eutrophication and the provision of regulatory advice on eutrophication. My work has involved management of national and international research programs relating to the fate and consequences of human activity and pollutants on freshwater, coastal and offshore marine waters, establishing links between the freshwater zone and marine systems, and coastal zone management.
I have extensive experience in coastal, marine and catchment habitats, including rivers, wetlands, estuaries, coral reefs and pelagic environments, with specialist skills in: assessing eutrophication risk and vulnerability, policy analysis and advice, water quality and benthic monitoring, impact assessment, catchment management, planning and approvals and facilitation of scientific and community workshops.
I have also worked in environmental consultancy, both overseas and in Australia, focusing on reserach management and European water directives. See www.c2o.net.au
