Biography

Dr Mahmud Mohammed joined the College of Medicine and Dentistry, James Cook University, Australia, as a Casual Academic in Clinical Dentistry in 2024. Mahmud completed his MSc in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology from Universiti Sains Malaysia. He started his teaching career at Delta Medical College, Dhaka, Bangladesh, and from there on, he gathered teaching and research experience in Dentistry.

Dr Mahmud Mohammed's Australian career started with the award of a highly competitive and prestigious Australian Federal Government Funded scholarship, the International Postgraduate Research Training Program Scholarship (IRTPS) to conduct his research project on a novel Deep learning segmentation of alveolar bone for 3D printed scaffolds that led to the award of PhD from The James Cook University, Australia. His current research focus is Medical Image processing, Deep learning Image Segmentation and Maxillofacial Radiology.
