Biography
Deb Denman is a Lecturer in Speech Pathology at James Cook University with expertise in areas of paediatric speech, language, literacy, and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC). She is also a qualified practicing Speech Pathologist with 20 years of clinical expertise working as a speech pathologist in Queensland State Schools. As an enthusiastic advocate for evidence-based practice, Deb’s clinical work and research focuses on ways to support implementation of evidence-based practice in clinical settings. Deb has completed a PhD investigating clinical speech pathology assessment practice in relation to evidence-based research and has experience with designing professional learning and providing peer support for practicing clinicians. Deb’s current research interests include child language assessment and intervention, health-related quality of life, health-literacy, and the power of person-centred care.
