Carol Choo

Associate Professor Carol Choo is a registered clinical psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), a board approved supervisor with Psychology Board of Australia, Singapore Register of Psychologists, and a full member of the Singapore Psychological Society and Australian Psychological Society (APS) College of Clinical Psychologists.

Carol has worked as a psychologist since 1999 in Australia and Singapore, and has accumulated professional experience in various sectors e.g. mental health, disability, crisis counselling and youth work. She has worked in a diverse range of settings, e.g. as Senior Psychologist on the psychiatric ward, clinician on the crisis assessment and treatment team, case manager in community mental health, and as a consultant psychologist. She also started a pilot program for children and adolescents as principal psychologist. In addition, Carol has worked in private practice and provided research and clinical supervision.

Carol has worked in tertiary education since 2007 in Singapore and Australia. Before moving to James Cook University, Carol was Director of the Psychology Wellness Centre and Associate Professor at Central Queensland University in Australia. Prior to that she worked as Senior Lecturer at Murdoch University in Perth; and also helped to develop the Clinical Masters Program in Darwin. Carol has also worked as Head of Programs at SIM University in Singapore.
