Biography

Ailie Ross is an academic in the Biomedical Sciences group at JCU, specialising in advanced haematology. She has extensive experience in clinical diagnostic pathology, working in public and private laboratories over a period of 23 years after graduating from JCU with a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science. While working as a senior haematology scientist, she obtained her Haematology Fellowship with the Australian Institute of Medical and Clinical Sciences in 2019. She moved to academia in 2023 to pursue research in her specialist area of clinical flow cytometry and morphology in the diagnosis of haematological malignancies. Her other research interests include trauma coagulopathy, translation of diagnostic testing and resource-limited environments.
