Biography

Aidan is a marine biologist and aquaculture researcher with a strong foundation in fish pathology and aquatic ecology. With a degree in aquaculture from James Cook University, he has explored a wide range of topics from jellyfish domestication to the health and sustainability of farmed barramundi.

His postgraduate work has focused on issues such as mycotoxin contamination in aquaculture feeds to ecology and identification of polychaete species. His current HDR research focuses on allergenicity in cultured fish, and disease transmission between wild and farmed populations with emphasis on the ecology of the wild species, particularly in Southeast Asia’s open sea farming environments.

Driven by a curiosity for the intersection of marine ecology, pathology, and allergenics, Aidan aims to support responsible aquaculture through applied research and collaborative innovation.
